Heyyyy…I’m 29 and had an awesome weekend

So today begins the last year of my 20's, as I have now hit the ripe old age of 29. Just in time to get my life sorted for the 30's; there's no better time than now!

Courtesy of my amazing friends and family, I had an absolute cracker of a weekend. It began Friday night when a friend and I headed down to the local stadium to watch the QLD Reds take on the chiefs, which they unfortunately lost. However it did mean that I met my new favourite player, only for the extremely shallow reason that he is gorgeous. Other than that I don't really follow Rugby Union.

Poor Digby nearly copped a mouthful of my hair!

Saturday I spent the day feeling a bit blue, but after going for a run the cloud hanging over me finally began to clear. Some motivation returned, and I snapped out of it just in time for dinner.

Dinner was a group of friends and I, where we went for a girls night out starting with some Thai. I stupidly filled up on spring rolls and then struggled to eat my main of Pad Thai, which tasted amazing going down but as I managed to get extremely drunk, came back up later. Oops. The girls also surprised me with a really cool birthday cake!

Following dinner we sat outside by the canal to finish the wine, where we promptly passed off a bottle to a hens night returning from a boat trip on the river. I put my foot in my mouth when I said to the girl “it doesn't taste very good”, she said “oh, it's NZ wine, we love it”. Because you always tell a Maori, native of NZ, that their wine is shit. Good work me.

We also rode the carousel (video was taken I believe, but not on my phone), and rode a stationery jet ski. Because that's just how I roll.

Sunday after spending the morning attempting to recover from a hangover I went fridge shopping with a friend and scored a nice new fridge. It was over my budget, but I decided to spend the extra and buy something brand new so that I knew I had a warranty. It will be perfect for a second fridge when I eventually upgrade.

I also went for lunch with Mum, and had the most amazing food!

Last night I relaxed and finished a movie, organised some photo frames ready to hang in my room, and prepared my vision board ready for some motivating pictures.

I think it's fair to say that it was an action packed weekend filled with ups and downs, and at the end of it, I wouldn't have been able to get through it without the amazing friends I have both in real life and on twitter. There is ALWAYS someone there when I need it, and I am eternally grateful to you all.

I'm 29, and things can only go up from here.

Let me know your thoughts!
