I got a little bit craft today!
We bought some cheap curtains when we first got the house, but they’ve always bugged us. There’s a power point in the bub’s room close to the floor. It was a pain for full length curtains because you had to sit the fabric over the points – a safety issue. It also meant the curtains didn’t quite seal and let in some light.
Well, on the weekend we bought a bookshelf for the little man. I’ve been hanging out for one for ages. When we put it together we realised the perfect spot was under the window. Finally I had my excuse to get cracking on chopping the curtains. I cut and hemmed them, admittedly using white thread since I didn’t have any silver to match. The bookshelf has a big gap at the back, perfect for masking the power point. It means it’s not touching anything anymore, and hidden from the bub should he be crawling around his floor for any reason.
People that sew will pick on it a tad for technique, but it does the job! And hey, cheap curtains so it doesn’t matter quite so much 🙂
Look ok?
