First day of the year, and time for a new list! Here it is! Last year had the theme of “year of health”, this year has no theme. It’s fun stuff, health stuff, and stuff that I want to do just because…..
Are you making a list this year? Want to share it?!
Fitness
These all tie in to some fitness goals I have this year, as well as making time for an activity I haven’t done in a long time that I want to get back to doing (swimming).
- Go to the pool and swim laps
- Run 5k non-stop
- Run a half marathon
- Complete a run training program
- Do park run 5 times
- Enter 5 events or challenges
Travel
I’m still not exactly keen on long distance travel right now, so I’ve come up with a list of things I can do with my family while staying close to home!
- Go for a train ride
- Go for a bike ride
- Go on a bus
- Take the caravan somewhere new
- Visit Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens (seriously how have I never been here?)
Family/Relationship
- Take Luca to a museum
- Show Luca how to Geocache
- Write a letter to Luca on his birthday
- Do something nice for my parents
- Visit my middle sister
- Do a family hike
- Post something on social media to appreciate my husband using the hashtag #LovedUpKelsbellsIsGross (I used to use this all the time before I got married and had a child….and I stopped being mushy and gross)
- Go on 6 dates with my husband
- Build a sand castle with Luca
- Take Luca to a theme park
Social Kindness/Giving Back
The world has become an angrier, more toxic place in the last few years, so it’s time to get back to some kindness.
- Make and complete a Random Act of Kindness list (with 10 things on it)
- Donate blood regularly
- Raise money or donate to charity
- Volunteer for something
- Pay it forward
- Buy a stranger a coffee
Health and Wellbeing
- Take myself on a date once a month
- Get a breast checkup
- Take a full-body photo of myself once a month
- Get a pedicure
- Disconnect from the internet for 24 hours
- Get fitted for running shoes
- Get my eyebrows waxed or threaded
- Use the good skincare products I’ve had hidden away
Hobby
- Print and display my 52 list somewhere
- Print 3 inspiring quotes
- Achieve a cooking goal
- Do photo a day again
- Finish a sewing project
- Make a new cocktail
- Learn how to crochet
- Cook 5 things for national (something) day e.g. pancake day, taco day etc
- Try a new restaurant I’ve been meaning to
- Re-read “Sweet Poison Quit Plan” (the goal here is to remember about the damage that sugar does to my body, not about “lose weight fast” they proclaim in the heading)
- Do some lettering activities on the iPad
- Learn how to service my bike
- Create labels for my drawers in my study
Friends
- Have a board game night
- Invite someone for dinner we haven’t seen in a while
- Write Christmas Cards
- Have a BBQ at the beach with friends
So that’s it! What do you think? Are there any activities on there that you love? If you’re doing a list share it with us, and check back in to let us know how you’re going.
I love doing this list, and even if I don’t get them all done, any time I can cross anything off the list I feel proud.
