This time of the year is so busy, isn’t it! In amongst regular life, you have to fit in Christmas shopping, social visits and huge, long days of eating. There’s travelling back and forth to family, and naps (or dreaming of naps) to get over the food comas.
It’s been so crazy here, and I’m behind in a lot of things.
This week I’ve been reviewing my 52 list for 2018 over and over. I’ve deleted items and added new ones. I’ve also now asked my (also extremely busy) friend Jo to look over it and tell me where I’m being dumb. She’s my partner in crime with me for the 52 list, starting the yearly tradition many years ago. Now a mother of 2, she’s more qualified than anyone to tell me when I’m being unrealistic.
In amongst that I’ve started one blog post and mentally written about 3 more. All new ideas are fed into my list app so I don’t forget them, and now it’s just the challenge of making the time to get it finished. I’m behind in taking my 2 month old photo of Luca, but have resolved to get that done tomorrow (along with my nearly finished blog post writing a letter to him).
I’m also still being a mother to a ten week old, and (trying to be) a good wife. Plus house work. On top of that, after Christmas and Boxing Day, and the copious amounts of food, I’ve started the process of weaning myself off sugar again. Baby steps, nothing dramatic.
I’ve used our chalk board at home to try and make sense of what I need to get accomplished this week. The hubby has also added his own items to the list so we have a birds-eye view of everything we need to get done. I’ve only got a few days left in the week, I think it’s fair to say some of these things may not get done.
Today I’ve accomplished one session at the gym and a blog post. I folded the clothes but they weren’t put away so they’ve been stashed. The hubby also spent a good amount of time packing our camping trailer this evening as well. So there was some progress.
As for everything that doesn’t get done, well, there’s always next week, right?
Welcome to Mother life. Never enough time, it’s the most precious thing- and you wouldn’t change a thing! Don’t forget just playing and cuddling Luca is the top item. They grow up so fast and it’s the time you spend with them they remember, not the material things like if the washing was put away.
Most definitely – Luca and my hubby come first. The housework can always wait. In saying that I do enjoy having a tidy house hehe
