April 52-in-52 update

It’s been a bit of a crazy week for me this week – I had a lot on work-wise, and on Wednesday I spent the entire day at the zoo with Luca. By the time night rolled around I didn’t have time to spend in front of a screen. As a result I didn’t get to post my weigh in Wednesday post, and I’ve not had a chance to post it since.

I was going to write it now, but given the next one is due in 3 days, I figure I’ll combine them both together. To weigh-ins in one. Woo.

Instead I figured that tonight I’ll share an update on my 52 list and how the past 4 months have been. [...]  read more

Clean up Australia Day 2019

www.youtube.com/watch

This year one of my 52 in 52 goals was to participate in Clean Up Australia Day 2019. It was one of those items that I decided on when looking at a recap on the news last year. I knew I would have a feel good moment from it, so onto the list it went!

My friends decided to join me, although unfortunately our first choice location wasn’t available after the terrible beach erosion from Cyclone Oma. We were the fourth team to work through this area this morning and we were still collecting this much rubbish and cigarette butts! [...]  read more

February update for the 2018 52-in-52 list

Another productive month this month with some more items to tick off the list! Right now as it stands I’ve completed 15 items, with 37 left to go.

Have a bath

Obviously this wasn’t a challenge for my hygiene; I have a shower every day. Ok, I’ll be totally honest; on rare days I don’t shower, but that’s because I have a young baby and it can be a challenge! But I do shower at least every second day, never longer.

No, this 52 was about taking some time out of the everyday and relaxing in the bath. Time for me. [...]  read more

2018 edition of 52 things in 52 weeks (52 in 52)

Every year I write a list of 52 things to complete in 52 weeks – the course of a year. This tradition has been going since 2008 – a huge 10 years now!

To explain the 52 in 52, it’s kind of like new year’s resolutions, but instead of making a resolve about a new habit, it’s a list of tasks. The aim is to take time out of every day life to do things that are out of the ordinary. Things like making time for friends and family, and most importantly, myself. It can be fun things, simple things, or necessary things. [...]  read more

Maternity leave week 2: conquering some 52s and other tasks

Today I had my first moment of asking Mario what day it was. I can’t believe I’m already at that stage, and it’s only week 2!

Last week I spent most of the week running errands, and being silly. By the end of the week I had successfully:

  • Updated my driver’s license details
  • Updated my medicare details
  • Created an account with Centrelink
  • Linked my Centrelink account with MyGov (seriously, this was an achievement – it took two days)
  • Started my Parental Paid Leave Claim with Medicare
  • Updated my name with the bank

Towards the end of the week I took it a bit easier, but still felt like I was on the go most days.

This week, I’m trying to take it a bit easier and stay home.

Cleaning out the pantry

Ok, this wasn’t easy. It was nesting. But seriously, our pantry was killing me. I’m not a big fan of clutter, and I get so much satisfaction from a good ol’ fashioned clean out (read: throwing stuff out). My husband loves to keep things, which is a nice balance because it means I’ll never run out of things to do. Or throw out. [...]  read more
