I love going for weekends away, and I love spas, thus it was a no-brainer to add this one to the list. After a long, highly stressful week at work I was thrilled when Mario agreed to go away for the weekend. We found a gorgeous little B & B on Mount Tamborine called Avocado Sunset, booked online, packed up the car and away we went.
Our hosts were incredible. They were so lovely to chat to, and the following morning they cooked quite the amazing breakfast.
We had originally thought about going out for dinner, but all we really wanted to do was cuddle up, have a spa, drink some wine and relax. Thus “dinner” was some beautiful Riesling that I bought from New Zealand last year (Stonyridge to be exact), a variety of cheeses, prosciutto, cheese twist things, fruits and nuts. It was all we needed. We watched a movie on the TV, had a long candlelight spa (it's a two person spa, so nice), and went to sleep.
The following morning I woke up so refreshed, it was clear I really needed the down time. Alas we couldn't continue the relaxation as we were heading to the Big Day Out music festival but I could have quite easily stayed there a few more days. The room we had looked out over the mountain range, and the sunset in the afternoon is just gorgeous (look at my pic above). It's no wonder they have put that in the name of the place, and yes, they also have avocados on the farm. Speaking of which, we went for a walk around the farm in the morning and looked around. They had some chickens (they have fresh eggs every day) that followed our every move! Also quite a nice little rainforest style thing, where during the heavy rains they apparently get a bit of a waterfall.
We're planning on heading back there one weekend so that we can spend some time trying out the local wineries, and if you're ever looking for somewhere to stay, I would highly recommend it. This isn't a sponsored post of any kind (the hosts don't even know I have a blog) I just really, really loved it.
What do you think, keep this 52 item as a repeating item every year?!
